"I have always found history to be fascinating and the discovery of my own ancestors past has been an extraordinary journey that I am still travelling through.
Back in 2004 I began my own family tree at the age of 16 and I've been doing it daily ever since. I have learnt and studied a lot to help me research my tree.I then realised that I could use these skills to help others with their own research."
Excellence and Professionalism
As opposed to other genealogical services that charge an hourly rate regardless of whether any information is discovered, at Dempsey Genealogy we offer a one-off fee based on what service you require. Some people might only want to know what their grandparents did for a living, others wanted to find as much as their family history as possible and others had already started their own tree but wanted me to do error report checks or help go back further. If we can not find anything, we do not charge for that service as we think that is a lot more reasonable. We also back up all of the research we have done for a client with documents and sources to prove or disprove family myths and to show what we are producing for a client is accurate. We work by the motto that a family tree is like a work of art, without the documentation it is worthless!

If nothing is found, nothing is charged. We will always speak with a client to ensure we work with them to the highest possible standard within their timescales and work out a plan that will help to deliver the best work we can for them.
Credentials
There are no formal qualifications necessary to be a professional genealogist. However, it is not enough to have only researched one's own family. A wide experience of many sources and areas is necessary. we have completed a genealogy course through the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and has just recently achieved a distinction at the centre of excellence in a genealogy diploma course.
